“I’ve moved bag and baggage to Goa!” claimed Kareena Kapoor in a recent interview. The clearly excited and relaxed actress was also endorsing a diamond brand while she was taking a break from shooting for Golmaal-3. Talking about men, the actress said, “All men know how to woo their women. And one way is to buy them diamonds!” And when she was questioned as to whether beau Saif Ali Khan had bought her any diamonds, she quickly exclaimed, “Of course! But a woman is never satisfied with one diamond…there has to be a number of it!”

Talking about her character in Golmaal-3, she confirmed that this time round she will not be playing a television serial watching wife. “I’m playing one of the heroes this time. She’s more like a tom-boy. But she’s still feminine because she is the only girl in the film!”

She also spoke about Agent Vinod, her upcoming film with Saif Ali Khan. “What will work for Agent Vinod is the director Shriram Raghavan. His films are slightly edgy.” But her most controversial comment came when she spoke about her recent set of dud films. “Actors don’t fail the script; the script fails them. The director is the captain of the ship. The actor just listens to whatever the director says or does.”

Hrithik Roshan is happy with the global response to his latest: the West is raving about Kites, with many leading dailies in the UK and the US additionally giving him a ten on ten for his sculpted bod.

While he’s kicked at the overseas response to the film, he does make it clear that the domestic market’s response dampened the celebrations a wee bit. “Our country should be proud that, finally, one Indian film has made it to the US Top 10 list, that for the first time, 37 countries have shown an Indian film for the very first time. No other Indian film has entered these markets ever before, and these places have bought it on the strength of the film, after having watched it. Thirty-seven new countries! Kites has done it for the first time – but it’s sad that our people, instead of nurturing this new passion that has conquered so many new markets, are putting us down.” The media in the West has surely given him raving reports ... “Yes, LA Times, New York Times, Hollywood Reporter, everyone has said good things about the film, and God, our country is putting it down. For what agenda?” he asks.

Putting aside the question for the moment, what does he have to say about everyone talking about his sexy body in the film rather than Barbara’s? “I am ecstatic. They are taking a look at Bollywood in a different way, and we have done it,” says Hrithik, and his sense of humour returns, at last, as he says, “But here, they are so used to biryani, I tell you. They’ve been served just that for the last 10 years, and I said well, here, try some pasta now. Try something different,” he says, “My Twitter page is going crazy with 90 per cent of the people who’ve seen the film sending me messages of love – and that’s what’s keeping me bright and happy. The film has a target audience. It’s not a formula commercial, concocted film.

And see, it’s finding its own audience. The fact is, just because it’s my film, people are going with strings attached, of my image, the kind of films that I have done before – the larger than life ones, promising them Dhoom and Krrish – well, I have done something different. But that’s no reason to put down the film.”

There’ve been reports that one of the reasons why the film didn’t do as well as expected is because 90 per cent of it is in Spanish, with English subtitles. Does he agree?
“But even if it is in English or Spanish or Chinese, you can’t say the film is good or bad - how can you judge that? You can say it didn’t cater to this audience or that market, but you can’t judge the merit of the film, you know. That’s the honesty of the film – the character is born in Las Vegas, he knows only English. He meets a foreigner, who is a Mexican. Now, why will he speak in Hindi? We are just being honest to the film!” says Hrithik. He makes another pithy point, then, “Had the character spoken Hindi, the same critics would’ve said how dishonest, how can someone who’s never seen India speak in Hindi. It is so ridiculous. You can’t please them either ways.”

And what about Sussanne? How has she reacted to this, sort of, global love-hate reaction to the film? “She’s like my spiritual guardian. She is so bright and happy all the time - she’s constantly all smiles,” says Hrithik. And as to Barbara, reports of her not being too happy with things, of leaving on a note of disappointment...? “Barbara is right here in the country, in fact she is here till May 27; she is excited, she is happy, and she’s been tweeting saying just that,” he signs off.

Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif said that she opted to play a different role in Prakash Jha's 'Raajneeti', where in she portrays a politician, to break the image of being only a glamour girl.

When asked why she took up this film, after starring mostly in romantic films and comedies, Katrina said, "I wanted to do something special and 'Raajneeti' offered this chance.

My role in Raajneeti is very different and powerful."

The beautiful and Hot 25-year-old actress was in the city alongwith actors Ajay Devgan and Manoj Bajpai and director Prakash Jha to promote the film which is set to hit theatres on June 4.

“I always wanted to do something unusual in life. I always used to make a world in my head and live in that. I wanted to be and do something unusual. Some of the dreams I remember, they may sound stupid – I wanted to be a firefighter, I wanted to be a stunt woman as Anglina Jolie played in her movie Tom Raddar, I wanted to go to NASA. Acting was something to fancy.”

Katz is gonna play an adventurous role in Zoya Akhtar’s next flick and is super excited about it.

It's a thumps up from designers to actress Deepika Padukone, who stole the limelight with a perfect attire on her very first red carpet appearance at the Cannes International Film Festival as against the experienced Aishwarya Rai who has made many a fashion faux pas.

Aishwarya, who has been attending the French film festival since 2002 as the global face of L'Oreal, has been drawing flak from designers for her wrong choice of outfits and was only able to impress last year when she wore a white off-shoulder Roberto Cavalli.

The 36-year-old looked great this year as well in a violet blue fully embroidered tulle and mousseline gown from Lebanese designer Elie Saab, but 24-year-old Deepika was able to make the right choice in her first go itself.

The young actress, who is attending the event as the face of liquor brand Chivas Regal, opted for a Rohit Bal -- off white, slightly embroidered saree with touches of gold, instead of a western look.

"She was wearing a saree and I think that's an appropriate outfit for any Indian diva walking an international platform. It was a nice off-white saree with a sexy blouse, making the look exude a good amount of glitz and glamour," designer Charu Parashar told IANS.

Designer Nida Mahmood said: "Deepika is a beautiful woman and was looking stunning in a saree. It's a very nice outfit that brings out the real form of a woman. It's sensual and elegant and if you can carry it well it makes you look awesome."

Deepika completed her look with a broad hand cuff, Kundan earrings and a stone encrusted clutch.

According to designer Sabbah Sharma, Deepika's decision to wear a saree for the international event was right.

"Deepika has an amazing height and Indian wear looks great on her. The blouse was very sexy and is perfect for her lean, well toned body. We are a country with unique art and craftsmanship and we should be proud to flaunt it, just like she did," said Sabbah.

Rohit Bal, who designed Deepika's look for the event, had said: "As a designer, who has been observing fashion since the last 25 years, I think the only one super star at this time at Cannes is going to be Deepika Padukone. There's nobody better than Deepika to break the rules and it's going to attract a lot of attention."

After her violet blue avatar the first day, Aishwarya opted to go black the next day.

She opted for a black off-shoulder, fish cut gown with neatly tied hair at the back and shocking red lip colour. While the gown was new, Aishwarya opted for the same round solitaires she wore the previous day.

Also a part of the Indian presence at Cannes is actress Mallika Sherawat, whose film "Hisss" will be screened at the festival.

Away from her bold image, Mallika was dressed quite simply once in a white, self -printed, sleeve less, low neck dress, coupled with traditional Indian jewellery and the other time in a blood red, low neck dress with a white feathery coat. On both occasions she kept her hair open.

Mallika Sherawat has been named among the 13 best-dressed celebs at Cannes, by a French fashion website. With other Bollywood beauties Aishwarya Rai and Deepika Padukone earning both acclaim and criticism for their fashion sense on the red carpet, Mallika has plenty to cheer about.

On Saturday night, the actress posted her Cannes pictures on Twitter writing, "WOW! 1 of the 13 best-dressed @ Cannes?! and me the only Indian listed!" Surprisingly, her fans don't seem to agree with Cannes' fashion experts on her dressing sense over the past few days. Mallika made her first appearance at the festival in a white gown paired with a kundan necklace.

The next day, she appeared in a nude Dolce & Gabbana bustier style dress, and followed it up with another nude-coloured bustier style Dolce & Gabbana dress and high gladiator heels on the third. About her day 1 look, vijay wrote, "Not a fan of this necklace wth the dress." "Horrible dress, shoes, hair and make up. Her hair looks like a bee's nest. Doesn't she have a mirror?" posted Dipti on Twitter, about her look on day two.

"She looks straight out of a Tim Burton movie," wrote Raj23 on a fashion blog.

Recently, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan in an interview declared that his “Kites” co-star Latin actress Barbara Mori is the “best actor” he has ever worked with in his entire film career.

“She’s the best actor I’ve worked with. She’s not from our little pond but from another ocean. That’s why I attribute the word ‘best’ to her,” said nation’s heartthrob Hrithik.

Hrithik added that he was bowled over after watching some of the films Barbara has done.

“The first film of Barbara that I saw had so much vulnerability and dignity, that I was completely bowled over. She has a lot of sex appeal as well. And that is a lethal combination!” added the actor.

So far Hrithik has worked with many top-notch actresses of tinsel town after making his debut in the industry such as Rani Mukherji, Preity Zinta, Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra etc. but it looks like Barbara has managed to cloud his mind completely.

The much hyped film that features Latin actress opposite Hrithik is all set to be released on May 21.

• 1 “Jolie” means “pretty” in French.

• 2 Jolie currently has 13 known tattoos, among them “know your rights” on her upper back, between her shoulder blades, the Tennessee Williams’s quote “A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages”, which she got together with her mother, the Arabic phrase, and a Yantra prayer written in the ancient Khmer and Pali scripts for her son Maddox, and a dragon on her lower back. She also has four sets of geographical coordinates on her upper left arm indicating the birthplaces of her children. This tattoo covers the “Billy Bob” tattoo, the name of her former husband Billy Bob Thornton. Jolie has lasered a Chinese character for death and a window on her lower back; she explained that she removed the window, because, while she used to spend all of her time looking out through windows wishing to be outside, she now lives there all of the time. During The Changeling premiere on October 4, Angelina showed off amendments to her upper arm tattoo. Here appeared new inscriptions of the longitude and latitude co-ordinates of the birthplace of her twins, Vivienne and Knox.

• 3 Angelina’s mom chose the name for her third adopted child, a baby boy from Vietnam. Her mom named him Pax.

• 4 Angelina Jolie used her son Maddox’s Nintendo DS online games to lose baby weight after giving birth to twins in July 2008. Maddox was showing Angie his games when they discovered Let’s Pilates! According to the source, Jolie tried to get in an hour of Pilates three times a week. “She’s picking it up pretty quickly and is already at the hardest setting!”

• 5 Jolie graduated from Beverly Hills High School at age 16, the same school as Lenny Kravitz.

• 6 She gave her Oscar Statuette, Golden Globes, SAG Awards, and Critic Choice Award to her mother. She felt she didn’t need to hang on to awards.

• 7 Angelina is left-handed and therefore had to have guns specially made so that she could reload them easily for Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.

• 8 Angelina Jolie is a natural blonde. “My hair went from light blonde naturally to a darker kind of blonde. My mother dyed my hair dark when I was a child as I loved the look then. So I’m basically a natural blonde,’ the star said in one of her interviews.

• 9 Jolie holds a Private Pilot Certificate with the Airplane, Single Engine, Land rating.

• 10 She teaches Buddhism to her son Maddox because she considers it part of his culture.

According to reports, Angelina Jolie is interested in playing the evil queen in the modern take on Sleeping Beauty .

Her rep hasn’t yet confirmed the reports but the rumor has it, Angie is likely to join the cast of Maleficent if the project is helmed by Tim Burton (Alice In Wonderland 3D).

The screenplay is being written by Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King).

There’s a great chance Jolie signs up to star in the movie as there are no films lined up for her after The Tourist that she’s currently filming with Johnny Depp in Venice, Italy.

Following in Depp’s footsteps, Jolie is now making movies for her kids and that she can watch with her kids.

Will you watch?

JESSICA SIMPSON DRINKING TO MUCH

JESSICA Simpson has started to party like she’s 19 again — and her friends and family are worried sick.

The single singer/actress/realty TV star is said to be drowning her sorrows with booze.
Sources say the frumpy 29-year-old has been downing whiskey and is piling on the pounds again.
“Jess seems really depressed right now,” dished one insider. “I think she’s drinking way too much and eating terribly. We’re really worried for her.”
The pal said Jess started on a downward spiral when her brief romance with rocker Billy Corgan hit the skids.
“When it didn’t work out between them, Jess started feeling bad about herself again and she seems to be drinking way more than usual,” dished the insider.
“Jessica is a beautiful, intelligent girl but her confidence is shot. She needs to look on the brighter side of things and realize the answer lies within — not in the bottom of a bottle.”

JESSICA Simpson Addicted To Nicotine Gum…

JESSICA Simpson is addicted to nicotine chewing gum — but has never smoked a cigarette.

The former singer/actress — who’s reportedly learning to embrace her “sexy” curves — told chat show host Jay Leno the gum gives her the energy of”‘three cans of Red Bull”.
“I am addicted to Nicorette gum, I actually spat it out and put it on my water bottle before I came out,” she said.
“Never in my life have I smoked.
“The first time I ever chewed a piece of Nicorette gum one of my close friends’ mother gave it to me.
“I think she thought she was giving me a piece of regular gum.
“I was chewing it and it was like a party in my mouth. It was like fireworks and ‘Oh my god, I’m talking a million miles per hour and I love this gum and what kind of gum is this? I have to have this gum’.
