Salma Hayek Walks Out Of The "Faster Film"

SALMA HAYEK has reportedly thrown new movie FASTER into turmoil by dropping out of the project just a week before filming was due to start.

The Mexican actress was scheduled to team up with Dwayne 'The Rock’ Johnson for the action-packed picture, which was slated to begin production on 8 February (10).

But the 43 year old has now pulled out of her role, leaving movie bosses rushing to recast the part, according to Deadline.com.

The film stars Johnson as an ex-convict desperate to avenge the death of his brother.



Salma Hayek to join Faster cast !

Salma Hayek is in talks to join the cast of new action thriller Faster.
Taken's Maggie Grace has signed up to join Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton in the movie and Variety reports Salma is in negotiations to follow her.
The Rock will play an ex-con out to avenge his brother's murder.
He's trailed by a veteran policeman, who is presumed to be played by Billy Bob.
It is not known what roles Maggie and Salma will play.
George Tillman Jr, director of Notorious and Men Of Honour, will be at the helm of the movie.
Shooting begins next month in LA.





Salma Hayek In "Faster" Talks
Casting on the Dwayne Johnson starrer "Faster" is picking up speed. Maggie Grace has signed on and Salma Hayek is in negotiations to co-star in the CBS Films action drama.
Billy Bob Thornton has already boarded the George Tillman-directed pic, which will begin production next month in Los Angeles.
Pic is a co-production of CBS Films and Sony Worldwide Acquisitions Group.
Story centers on an ex-con (Johnson) looking to avenge his brother's murder, who is trailed by a veteran policeman.
Joe and Tony Gayton penned the screenplay, while Martin Shafer and Liz Glotzer are producing alongside Tony Gayton and Robert Teitel. Joe Gayton is exec producing.
Grace, who is on Variety's current 10 to Watch list, most recently starred opposite Liam Neeson in "Taken" and is onboard for a sequel. She has a number of films in the can including the Tom Cruise starrer "Knight and Day."
She is repped by ICM and 1 Management.
Hayek starred in last year's "Cirque du Freak" for Universal. She is set to voice the role of Kitty in DreamWorks Animation's "Puss in Boots."
Hayek is handled by CAA and Management 360.
